Pros Of The Piece ----------------------- Your use of DOF within this piece is absolutely incredible and your use of light. The lines from the blurred grass really frames your model well and it gives it a really nice soft and textured look. The lighting is nice, soft and even. There is not too much going on with the light and colours which makes this piece very simple, easy and relaxing to look at. In the first photograph, I approve how I can see her eyes even though she is wearing glasses. Usually when a model wears glasses you often receive a glare and you cannot see their eyes. However, you did a great job with your lighting and we are able to see her beautiful eyes that are glowing with life and emotion.
Cons Of The Piece ----------------------- I do not quite agree with the positioning given within this piece. In the first photograph she does not look very comfortable. Perhaps if you allowed her to lay on the grass completely and not leaning in to herself, she would have looked a bit more comfortable. OR, to keep your terrific framing, have her lean on her hand and not on her wrist. In the second picture she looks very hunched over. You should of had her lean up just a bit to get more of a nice posture OR you should have photographed her at a different angle with that same pose. This piece is not very original if you are striving for originality. What you could have done is have a prop involved. Props ALWAYS make photographs original. The prop choice is always up to you. Or if there was a bright colour involved to contrast the soft colours. The possibilities are endless! How It Could Be Improved -------------------------------- Always keep a close eye upon how the model is posed EVEN if you are doing candid photographs. Use different angles and poses that could improve how you present the model. The impact of this image could have been stronger if the model had a bit more expression and shot at a different angle. However, this my vary upon the style that you focus upon. It is just suggestions. To accomplish originality, try to do something very. very different. Props give you are wide rage of variety to accomplish originality. Always be on the look out for cool awesome props!
Closing Statement ---------------------- This is a wonderful piece with incredible framing, light and depth. The colours coordinate so well and give off a great feeling of autumn. I approve how you have your model looking at the camera in the first picture and then have her looking at the grass in the over picture. It gives a great feeling of solitude and self company. Remember, props, posing and shooting angles will enhance your pictures and generate more impact. Just experiment! Great work!
